Jason Garrett, Jac Collinsworth to call Notre Dame football for NBC

NBC has found its replacements for Mike Tirico and Drew Brees on its Notre Dame football coverage, The Post has learned.

Jac Collinsworth will be on play-by-play, and Jason Garrett will be the game analyst, according to sources. Garrett has also replaced Brees on “Football Night in America,” NBC’s Sunday night pregame show. NBC and Brees decided to part ways after just one season. Brees could do a few more detailed Manningcast-type shows for Amazon’s Thursday night games, according to sources.

Collinsworth, a Notre Dame grad, is also expected to continue on FNIA.

NBC declined comment.

Tirico will join Collinsworth’s father, Cris, for the whole season of “Sunday Night Football.” Al Michaels has moved on to full-time duties on Amazon’s new “Thursday Night Football” streaming package. Michaels still retains a small role with NBC.

18 Days to Purdue Football: Brady Allen

Aidan O’Connell enters the year at the next great Purdue quarterback, as he is in line for a 4,000 yard season and possible NFL draft slot. Who is next after him though? Today’s player is often thought of the next one in the cradle.

2022 Projection: Likely redshirt

Just because I say “redshirt” for Allen doesn’t mean I don’t think he will play. Players can play in up to four games and hold their redshirt, so it would not surprise me if Allen got some mop-up duty along the way. AOC is the unquestioned No. 1 and Austin Burton is likely the primary backup, but the No. 3 spots comes down to Allen and Michael Alaimo. Whoever wins the No. 3 spots are in line to start next year.

Allen has a great shot at it,

Latest bowl projections has UNC football program in El Paso

The 2022 college football season is quickly approaching and for Mack Brown’s Tar Heelsthey are hoping to improve on a disappointing 2021 campaign.

UNC enters this season with lower expectations and won’t find its name in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll. And that might not be a bad thing in terms of expectations.

As we continue to countdown the days until Week 0 and the matchup against Florida A&M, we wanted to look at some updated bowl projections and where the Tar Heels stand. Jerry Palm of CBS Sports released his updated bowl projections and he has UNC in El Paso.

The latest projections have the Tar Heels in the Sun Bowl facing off against Oregon State on December 30th.

UNC has been in the Sun Bowl before, most recently back in 2016 when they fell to Stanford. The game has a ACC-Pac-12 tie-in and with the

Can the Penn State Nittany Lions Win the Big Ten Football Title in 2022

Are college football fans and bettors underestimating Penn State this season? Matt Youmans of VSiN suggests they might be.

Youmans expects Penn State to go over its consensus 2022 win total of 8.5 games and has the potential to win 10. He also might be one of quarterback Sean Clifford’s biggest fans out there.

“I like Sean Clifford,” Youmans said in a recent interview from Las Vegas. “I really think he’s a pretty good quarterback who’s got some mobility and is a pretty accurate passer. And when you rank the quarterbacks in the Big Ten, I think he’s in the conversation for that No. 2 spot.”

VSiN ranks Penn State at No. 14 in its preseason power rankings, valuing the Lions much higher than the coaches poll. According to VSiN’s 2022 College Football Betting Guide, the Lions are preseason favorites in 10 games, holding a 5-point edge in the

‘Climate change’ means it is time to ‘reimagine’ college football calendar, claims USA Today sports columnist

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

USA Today Sports columnist Dan Wolken claimed that a new college football season schedule needs to be dreamed up in order to handle the threat of climate change.

In response to a Wednesday ESPN article exploring whether a reimagined college football season calendar could be a good idea, Wolken tweeted that “extreme heat” and “climate change” make this idea completely necessary.

The ESPN article in question polled “decision-makers” within the sport and “those who would be directly impacted” weigh the “pros and cons of such theoretical changes.”

Regardless of his actual decision-making relevance with the college football world, Wolken gave a ringing endorsement to shifting the schedule around in order to deal with climate change on Thursday.
