News of COVID-19 has been sweeping the globe, overtaking the standard articles detailing the newest celebrity gossip, movie reviews or wedding announcements. As the “stay at home” orders continue into their second month, people have started to get creative when it comes to the events they once took for granted. And for many, “social distancing” has affected their birthdays, leaving them to blow out their candles alone. Here are three celebrities who will be getting creative for their April birthdays.
1. Emma Watson (April 15)
Most well-known for her early role as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, Watson has gone on to star in other films including Little Women, Beauty and the Beast and Noah. She currently is working to promote gender equality as the United Nations Women Goodwill ambassador. The British movie-star will certainly be the “belle” of the ball during her quarantine celebrations.
2. Eddie Murphy (April 3)
This American comedian, actor and singer is one of the most well-known African American artists of all time. He is well-known for his voiceover work in Shrek and Mulan, as well as his Golden Globe-nominated performances in 48 Hrs, The Nutty Professor and Dolemite Is My Name. Murphy almost certainly made a cake with many layers for his birthday (but not as many layers as an onion).
3. Robert Downey Jr. (April 4)
Named one of TIME Magazine’s “Top 100 Influential People,” Robert Downey Jr. has garnered worldwide recognition and success from his turn as Tony Stark/Iron Man in Marvel’s Avengers franchise. Outside of the comic-book-inspired world, Downey has been seen in Sherlock Holmes, Due Date and the most recent Dr. Dolittle. Hopefully, JARVIS sent Downey several warm birthday wishes on his big day.
While celebrating your birthday during the time of “social distancing” might seem bleak, these celebrities can take comfort in their small blessings, while looking forward to a brighter (and hopefully more crowded) 2021 birthday celebration.
